Ski Chalet in France

The chalet makes a great base for super skiers who want to ski from morning to night as equally as for those like me who like to look at the snow drenched trees on the green runs and then go for a lovely lunch.

I hope you don't mind it is just me sending a quick message to everyone to tell them about my dear freind Barbara's ski chalet that is now available for rent for the rest of this season as well as for next (2011-2012) season.

The pics show that it is a little different to the normal ski chalets and this is because Barb has owned it for nearly 30 years and uses it regularly for herself and her family. Its interior has been designed and furnished by Barb over the years and offers a fantastic warm welcome to all its guests. It is decorated during the christmas break in a wonderful traditional way with a big tree and tastful decorations, making it a bit like a fairy tale. The rest of the ski season it offers a flexilble space that has 3 double bedrooms and can sleep upto 10 (if you are ok with kids or teenagers using the large sofa's in the sitting room areas at night as beds). Sleeping by the open fire is actually very lovely.

The chalet is one hour from Geneva airport in the french alps just outside the small town of Praz de Lys and not far from Les Gets. The skiing in the area is very good and links in with the Port de Solei that offers many miles of skiing at all different levels. The chalet makes a great base for super skiers who want to ski from morning to night as equally as for those like me who like to look at the snow drenched trees on the green runs and then go for a lovely lunch.

I have also stayed at the chalet in the spring and summer and gone walking in the flower covered mountains. The weather was beautiful and the walks had breathaking views, absolutely fab with the cows grazing and their giant bells tinkling for miles. A real Heidi moment. This is not for everyone but if you like the idea then again get your diaries out and give Barb a ring.

It is not in the town or village and so you will need to be capable of driving in the snow in your hire car. Otherwise it is an excellent opportunity to have a lot of fun for family groups or just a large group of friends all year round.

The idea is that booking direct with Barbara will make sense to everyone as you will be able to ask her direct any questions you may have before your stay and she is the perfect person to answer. Barb can also organise that any proivisions that you need are there ready on your arrival, taking a bit of the effort out of your self catering role. The chalet beds will all be made up for as well.

I had better let you get on but thought you may be interested either now or in th near future. Please feel free to forward to anyone you think may also be interested.

Have a lovely day,

Liz
