Do you live in or near a lovely town, or have you recently been on holiday to a town that you would like to tell other people about? If the answer is yes, then please send your town description with a photo to us and we will be delighted to publish it on our website.
We will send £25 of music vouchers to each author whose work we publish. You will have your name on our site and your town review will be read and enjoyed by hundreds of people.
To get some idea for your review, go to our regional reviews (such as the one for Devon here) and have a read. Then follow our simple guidelines below and get writing!
How Long? Your article must be a minimum of 250 words long and we suggest no longer than 1000 words.
Who by? The article must be written by the person who is submitting it as it will have their name as the author and must be their experiences. It must be their own work and not copied from someone else.
Who will read it? The people reading your review will be our site visitors who are made up of families, young couples, overseas visitors and business people alike. You must try and appeal to everyone.
What to include? Because such a range of people will be reading your review, try and make it fun to read as well as informative. Look at the positive side of the town and don’t be sarcastic as it is often misunderstood. Ideally your review would include a top 10 list. Perhaps, places to eat, visitor attractions, places of historic interest or out door activities and beauty spots. It must contain accurate information that will not go out of date. Your description must be of your experiences and suitable for all ages and all interests.
What photo? The Photo can be of any part of the town or specific building or any attraction described in your review. It must to be of good quality and no bigger than 4 MB and preferably a jpeg (.jpg) file. This is ideal for us to upload. You must have taken the photo yourself and own the copywrite. Please briefly describe the photo.
What else? You must provide your full contact details including your email address for correspondence.
