Hoseasons debunks critical UK family holiday survey findings

Self-catering operator Hoseasons has leapt to the defence of the domestic holiday industry in the face of the critical findings of a survey run by Mother & baby magazine (see previous TravelMole story).

Chief executive Richard Carrick said the poll reflected a negative view of families visiting hotels, which represent only a small part of the UK holiday sector.

The claimed that the quality of self-catering accommodation in the UK has never been greater and families have never had a better range of breaks to choose from.

Carrick said: "We have found that more and more families are unwilling to spend hours in airports and want to discover what the UK has to offer.

"Over the past 10 years the quality of the experience has improved enormously with fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities at holiday parks, cottages with games rooms and even boats with DVDs and Xboxs."

He said the operator had worked closely with customers to respond to their requirements.

This had "ensured that pricing structure, something people were concerned about in the survey, remains completely transparent".

Carrick added: "This is one of the many reasons why we believe that UK familiy self-catering holidays are as popular as ever." By Phil Davies
