Guide To Holidaying In Perth and Kinross

A guide by Tasha Sewell

Perth and Kinross One of the most beautiful places ever. Whether you marvel at the skills of glass blowing, watch glassmakers engrave crystal ware of just fancy some local cuisine you are sure to love the time you spend here. And why not stop off at one of our distilleries where you can learn how the water of life is distilled from natural ingredients. The oldest (Glenturret at Crieff) and the smallest (Edradour at Pitlochry) distilleries in Scotland are situated in Perthshire.

Bang in the middle of Scotland and only an hour away from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, the area is easily reached by all modes of transport. No matter how near your home, Perthshire has something different to offer you and there's so much to see and do in such a compact area, you'll be spoilt for choice.

Take in centuries of Scotland while you enjoy the shops, food, attractions, events and some of the grandest private gardens in the country.

If you prefer a more active day out try taking a walk in the lush countryside, a game of golf or cycling stopping at one of the local village pubs for lunch. Aside from all the beauty attractions surrounding Perthshire, it is a great idea to take a relaxing day tour by bus or train.

In Perthshire there is more than enough variety to ensure that you are never short of ideas for great days out.
