Red Door
Bressay, Shetland Islands, Scotland
"For the most panoramic views of Lerwick, the best place to see them are from the privacy of your self catered house, The Red Door, on Bressay!"
Things You'll Love
With being situated so close to the water, the stunning views across to Lerwick offer the viewer the spectacular sight of the big international cruise liners as they gently glide into port; a common sight throughout the summer months as Shetland is a popular stopping point on their itineraries giving the town a fantastic buzz. This is probably the only place in the Islands where this can be fully appreciated.
For wildlife lovers, you can't go wrong. Seals can be found basking on the beachy shores just in front of the house and the bird sanctuary, Isle of Noss is situated a 2 mile walk across Bressay, followed by a short dinghy trip. Location
Bressay is a five minute ferry crossing from Lerwick town centre, and The Red Door is a two minute drive from the ferry.
Facilities in Bressay offer a petrol station, a local shop and post office which can provide all your day to day needs.
Bressay has its own hotel, the Maryfield, situated just past the ferry terminal as you leave the car park. The Maryfield is famed for some of the best seafood menus in the Islands and is exceptionally popular with the locals. Our advice would be to book in advance if you wanted to eat there. Owner's Description
The house is deceptively spacious as it will easily sleep five with a double and twin room located upstairs, whilst the dining room downstairs can sleep one quite comfortably. The property has the added bonus of two bathrooms so no queuing required!
Finished to a high standard, The Red Door is like home from home, with everything you have in your own house and maybe more besides. More importantly, The Red Door can cater for families with young children.
If any of this takes your fancy, please feel free to contact us and ask us as many questions as you like. We will endeavour to assist you in anyway we can and help make your stay in Shetland a memorable one.
