Things You'll Love

It is an ideal choice of accommodation for you to experience complete relaxation and peace, beautiful countryside, a host of indoor and outdoor activities, nature, heritage pursuits and gastronomic delights.

Location

The house, dating from 1820, is stone-built and situated in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
It is located in the idyllic and peaceful wooded valley of the river Tarrell that runs through the property.

It retains many of the original watermill features and visitors find it fascinating to try and figure out how it all used to work. It is truly unique.

It is in an area of special scientific interest and so you may see mink, kingfishers and otters. What could be more appealing than watching herons on the river from the windows or whilst supping a cool beer and tending the bar-b-q on the patio you watch the river and brown trout swimming in it.

It is superbly located for walking, cycling or driving from the doorstep to Pen-y-Fan (6miles away) and all the other Beacons as well as other areas of stunning scenery.

Owner's Description

We have furnished the house with comfort in mind so that it can accommodate up to 6-7 persons on the 3 floors. You can have a roaring log fire in the lounge and watch the SKY TV, a video or DVD or listen to music or the radio or merely unwind in the comfort of one of the 3 seater settees, one of which converts to a double bed. We have several books on the subject of Mills to aid you in investigating the workings found here but mind your head and feet! The bookcase houses maps and guides and games.

On the 1st floor the table, chairs, dresser and hostess trolley nestle amongst workings (duck or grouse!). You can rustle up a quick snack or produce hearty meals in the well equipped kitchen.

The beds will be made up for you in one of the 2 double bedrooms, the larger also has a single bed. Our newly refurbished bathroom on the 2nd floor has a power shower over the bath, a toilet and handbasin and view of the river below. Economy 7 storage heaters and emersion heater will ensure you are snugly warm and have a plentiful supply of hot water.

Outside there is a large paved area, bar-b-q and seating overlooking the river with access to the original mill race and the river. A small paddock, again overlooking the river, provides the parking space, space to pitch a tent and a barn. This is ideal for stowing bikes securely and hanging up wet weather gear.
