This lodge is big, bright and beautiful. It is open plan so even the chef of the group is included in all the conversations. The main living room doors face south and look over the picturesque Oxfordshire countryside.

Location

We are set a few minutes from the River Thames in the heart of the most glorious countryside. Abingdon Town Centre is just a 10-minute walk whilst Oxford City Centre is only 8 miles away, a great base for your holiday.

You can choose a day-trip, take in the local sights & restaurants, go shopping or perhaps just enjoy some relaxing riverside walks, to name just a few. There are also famous attractions such as Abingdon's historic buildings, MG car museum, Monday market, boat trips on the Thames, Oxford's dreaming spires and excellent shopping, Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle and of course the Cotswolds - all within easy driving distance.

Kestrel Lodge is a particularly social space in which to spend a family holiday or celebrate a special occasion with a group of friends. The open plan layout means you are able to enjoy a real feeling of involvement, with the whole party included in the action, even if they are cooking. High ceilings and exposed stonework add to the wonderful country feel, and the large dining table will comfortably seat up to ten guests for some truly memorable mealtimes.

* Fully fitted and equipped kitchen including washing machine, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, cooker and microwave.

* Large comfortable sofas to sit on whilst enjoying colour TV with Freeview, listening to CDs or the radio. Complimentary wireless internet access is offerred throughout this lodge.

* All beds are made with fresh crisp laundered linen, and towels folded ready for your arrival.

Polished wood floors cover the large ground floor living space. This includes a modern fully equipped kitchen, a very large family bedroom and two further bedrooms; all offerring zip-linked beds for the choice of two twins or one king-size. On the ground floor you will also find a large family bathroom. Upstairs you will find a bedroom and en-suite shower room. There is even a sofa bed in the living room for parties of more than 8 people.

Kestrel has landscaped garden areas on both south and northern side of the barn. These are fantastic areas to have BBQ on a warm summers evening, or sit and read the newspapers with your morning coffee.

This large, bright, flexible accommodation offers the perfect setting for your group holiday, reunion or family gettogether. To top it off, book a complimentary hour each day in our warm indoor pool, wih will be allocated only to your group. It is the perfect activity, offerringa refreshing dip and the chance to relax in privacy.

Things You Need To Know

The Lodge has ceiling tracking and we can provide hoists and slings for use in the downstairs bedrooms. The accommodation does not have a shower or wet room, only baths with showers above the baths.

Children are always welcome, high chairs, travel cots and stair gates are available when requested at the time of booking. There is a small charge for these items.

Pets are alwyas welcome, water bowls, treats and waste bags will be ready on arrival. There is a small charge for each pet to stay. Please confirm number of pets at time of booking.

Wispa ceiling tracking hoists, slings, cot sides, showe chairs and commodeds are available when requested at the time of booking. There is a small charge for these items.

All major credit/debit cards accepted and company invoicing can be arranged.

Travelling from the South:

Proceed along the A34 to the A415 Abingdon own exit.
From A34 head for the Town centre across three roundabouts.
After third roundabout you will find yourself on Ock Street (A415).
Proceed to traffic lights.
Turn Left onto Stratton Way and continue up to the traffic lights. Turn right into Stert Street.
Pass two pedestrian crossings and the church clock tower on the left.
Continue straight, pass the Nags Head Pub on the left when crossing the bridge over the River Thames (A415).
Just over the bridge, turn left into public car park and follow the lane in front of you. This will lead to Kingfisher Barn.

Travelling from the North:

Proceed along the A34 to the North Abingdon exit.
Keep left and continue up to the big roundabout entering Abingdon.
Take second exit to Town Centre, pass three traffic lights, head straight over the mini roundabout onto the Vineyard, proceed to second traffic lights and turn left onto Stert Street.
Pass two pedestrian crossings and the church clock tower on the left.
Continue straight, pass the Nags Head Pub on the left when crossing the bridge over the River Thames (A415).
Just over the bridge, turn left into public car park and follow the lane in front of you. This will lead to Kingfisher Barn.

We rent out Kestrel Lodge on a weekly and part weekly basis. This can be either Friday - Friday, Monday - Monday, Monday - Friday, or Friday - Monday.
