All our accommodation is designed to provide the highest quality and standard - befitting our 5 star status. Each property pays homage to well known composers, namely Elgar, Vivaldi, Bernstein and Chopin, and each cottage is given a different feel through the subtle use of materials, colours, decoration, fixtures, fittings and furnishing.

Location
"Composers at Woodlands" is located 2 miles south of the famous walled town of Berwick Upon Tweed and close to the main A1; just 50 minutes by car from Edinburgh and Newcastle Upon Tyne. Main east coast trains stop at Berwick and we are happy to collect guests from the station who travel either by train or coach. Local shops, general stores, supermarkets and other amenities are just a 2 minute drive from "Composers".
The "Composers" 5 star luxury self catering holiday cottages are a perfect base for exploring the locality, and are within easy reach of Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne/Holy Island, Alnwick and the Border towns of Melrose, Kelso and Coldstream with their wealth of local pride and history.
Nearby are the coastal resorts of Eyemouth, St Abbs, Seahouses and Craster. If you enjoy culture, take in the charms of celebrated country houses at Paxton, Mellerstain and Manderston. There are also many well-signed cycle routes and walking paths to sites of interest in the vicinity.
"Composers" is on the Coastal Path walk, close to established bird-watching sites and also provides an ideal base for river fishing, hunting and shooting and is within easy reach of several golf courses. We have secure facilities for those who use bikes and wish to store them safely during their visit.

Featuring luxury 5 star self catering cottages holiday accommodation, tastefully furnished and immaculately maintained to the highest standard.
From the courtyard, guests enter accommodation brimming with luxury and style, including a fully fitted kitchen complete with dishwasher, washer/dryer, 'fridge and 3 drawer freezer, ceramic hob, full size oven and microwave all set off by elegant table and glassware.
A relaxing lounge with leather sofa's and writing desk all provide a comfortable and restful surrounding whilst for those with technology in mind, we offer a flat screen multi-channel digital television, dvd player/recorder, hi-fi radio/cd and free wi-fi internet connection.
A sumptuous bathroom fitted with both a bath and walk-in shower, complements the property's overall feel of quality. All rooms are served by controllable electric heating.
Beyond the elegant dining and lounge areas patio doors lead on to individual terraces complete with wooden patio furniture. Each property has a unique key coded security main door lock and inside is a personal safe for valuables.
Things You Need To Know
All you need to bring is yourself! Each of our holiday properties have a full complement of towels and bedding. From our experience guests prefer to bring their own personal toiletries but we do supply all other domestic cleaning materials for bathroom and kitchen, including dishwasher tablets!!
At the "on site" office, guests can make purchases from a small selection of wines, fresh home baked bread, eggs from our own chickens and a variety of tempting, local, speciality dairy ice creams.

Bypass Berwick on A1 south and at roundabout take 1st exit on to A1167 - signposted Berwick. In 200yds take first right signposted "Scremerston & Cocklawburn Beach". Turn immediately left for Cocklawburn Beach. "Composers" is on your left.
From England - Along A1 (Northbound)
Travel details: From Newcastle Upon Tyne along A1 (Northbound). Approx. 4 miles south of Berwick at roundabout leave A1 onto A1167 - signpost Berwick, *then in 200yds take first right signposted "Scremerston & Cocklawburn Beach". Turn immediately left for Cocklawburn Beach. "Composers" is on your left.
From England - From the West
If travelling M6 northbound take either A69 to Newcastle and then A1 as above or leave M6 onto the A7 and A698, which joins the A1 at East Ord. Turn right onto A1 and then at roundabout, left on to the A1167 and follow instruction above from *
The 1st entrance is the main guest car park but on arrival take the 2nd entrance through the pair of wooden gates which bring you to the level courtyard access for loading and unloading.

"Composers" operate a no smoking policy throughout. We regret we cannot accommodate pets.
