Location
Situated in Earlish, above Uig Bay on the Trotternish Peninsula of North Skye, Barnellan is ideally located for touring the island and for catching the ferry from Uig to the Outer Hebrides. Our local eagles and peregrine falcons can often be seen from the sunroom with its fabulous panoramic windows. Look out for the seals in Uig bay too!

Barnellan Cottage has been approved from the Scottish Tourist Board as Four Star (Excellent) self catering accommodation.
Furnishings
Barnellan is a modern, new cottage, with all the facilities you should need. We are non-smoking and request that this is observed at all times.
The comfortable living room with it's views to the Cuillin Mountains , has a colour TV, DVD player and DVDs, CD player/radio, a well stocked bookcase with local guides and maps and lots of games for the occasional wet Skye day.
Kitchen
The kitchen/dining room is very spacious and well equipped with washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave and electric oven and hob. Off the kitchen is a small utility room with garden furniture and barbecue. An ideal place for taking off muddy boots!
Sun lounge
Barnellan's sun lounge offers magnificent views over Uig bay and the Outer Hebrides . It's the perfect place to relax and unwind with a drink whilst watching the incredible sunsets over the Western Isles.
Shower Room
The shower room is modern and bright, with electric shower, hand wash basin and toilet.
Bedroom
The kingsize double bedroom, with its great views over the bay, is a haven of peace and tranquillity. It has a built in wardrobe and pine furniture.
The twin bedded room has stunning views towards the south of the island and again is furnished in pine.
All towels, linen and electricity are provided within the cost of the rental.

Location of Barnellan
By Car
From the Skye road bridge (toll free), proceed along the A87 to Portree (32 miles). When approaching Portree town centre take a left hand turn signposted Uig (A87).
Proceed along the A87 for 13 miles until you reach the first Earlish sign on the left hand side. Continue straight on for just over a mile to the second Earlish sign, shown as 'no through road . Turn left and proceed approximately ½ mile to a small crossroads. Turn right at the crossroads and go to the top of the lane. You will see a gate to your right leading onto a track. Turn onto the track. Where the track forks, bear left and Barnellan is the bungalow on your right with the red steps.
By Bus
Skye and Lochalsh can also be accessed by coach from Inverness and Fort William which have links to other parts of Scotland. Try Rapsons or Citylink for local and national bus timetables.
By Air
There is no scheduled air service into Skye as there is no airport yet. However, you can fly into Inverness Airport and then arrange appropriate travel either by car hire or bus to the Island.
By sea
Skye can also be reached by sea, travel along the enchanting Road to the Isles from Fort William to Mallaig before taking the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Armadale on Skye. Caledonian MacBrayne also provide all year round sailings to Skye from North Uist and Harris. During the Summer months, a privately run ferry operates between Glenelg and Kylerhea on Skye.
Other Information
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement and are charged at £10 per pet per week. We request that they are kept off all furniture and are not allowed in bedrooms.
