Downstairs in Red Squirrel Cottage you'll find the cosy sitting room with its open fireplace, is there anything nicer than snuggling up on the sofa in front of a crackling fire? The sitting room also has a dining table by the window, a colour television and a selection of magazines. Through the hall is the kitchen, which contains all the crockery, dishes and utensils you need. Also downstairs is the family bathroom which has a bath with shower over, WC and basin.

Upstairs there is a cosy single bedroom at the back of the cottage looking towards the woods and a comfortable double bedroom looking out over the courtyard.

The heating in Red Squirrel Cottage is by electric storage heaters with a back boiler and immersion heater for the water.

Leave the M74 (London/Glasgow road) at Ecclefechan and take B725 signed to Dalton (6 miles away). This joins another road and crosses the river then turns sharp RIGHT - still for Dalton on B725.

Pass through Dalton heading towards Lockerbie. After half a mile turn RIGHT for Lockerbie. After another half mile (up a straight hill) West Lodge is the stone cottage on the RIGHT. Turn in here for the Stables Courtyard too, going 500m then turning RIGHT (top of hill). The Stables is 300m further down this track. Hare cottage is first on the left on entering the Courtyard (with light green window surrounds), while Red Squirrel Cottage is the farthest on the left (with dark blue windows). Otter Cottage (dark green windows) is on the far side of the square and Roe Deer Cottage (dark blue windows) is the first on the right. Fox Cottage is the light blue door farthest away.
