Farmhouse
Bridport, Dorset, England
"Lancombes Farmhouse is perfect for large parties or families who wish to rent together."
Location
The self-catering holiday cottages are all part of a 200 year old converted barn and farm buildings, arranged around a courtyard.
The cottages are set in 10 acres and surrounded by the beautiful hills and valleys of this upspoilt part of West Dorset, which has been designated an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.
Lancombes House is ideally positioned for visiting the Jurassic Coast. England's first natural UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of only 154 world-wide, the 95 miles of coastline from Exmouth to Portland are a walk through 185 million years of earth's history.
With the oldest in the west, the Site includes rocks from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods and the best place to find fossils is acknowledged to be in West Dorset.
The nearest point to us is West Bay (5 miles) but Charmouth (13 miles) and Lyme Regis (16 miles) are world famous for fossil collecting and you have a good chance of finding fossils loose on beaches in this area.

Drive 3 miles to another crossroads. Again, straight over - signposted Powerstock and West Milton. On your left is the magnificent Eggardon Hill Iron Age settlement - well worth a return visit to walk round.
You are now on a single track road with passing places for 2 ½ miles, when you reach the village of Powerstock. The Three Horseshoes is on your left - excellent pub food.
Turn left at the junction, down the hill and out of the village.
At the 'T' junction, turn right and on into the village of West Milton. You are nearly there!
Turn right on the main road over the small bridge and go right through the village. At the other side, turn right up the hill. Signposted to Poorton and Loscombe.
