Location
Situated in woodland in the heart of rural North Devon the towns of Barnstaple, South Molton, Bideford and Great Torrington are all within easy reach. These offer everything you would wish in terms of Shops, Farmers Markets, antique and Curio shops, Cinemas , Theatres and Sports facilities. Train services run from Barnstaple to Exeter for those wishing to visit the "Big City".
The smaller villages close by offer a good selection of Country Style Pubs providing a wide range of meals using Local Produce. You are also very close to two superb Golf Courses and some Great Fishing venues.
Walking, Cycling, Riding, Shooting, Fishing and Golf are all available locally and Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks are within easy reach. Spectacular beaches for Swimming or Surfing including Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe, and Westward-Ho are also within easy driving distance.
If Fishing there is Sea Fishing along the coast and by boat from a variety of coastal towns; Trout fishing at Blakewell and various Trout and Coarse fishing venues near Barnstaple- Sailing, Windsufing and Fishing at Tamar Lakes and Wimbleball Lake, plus Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks.
Other attractions in the area include The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, Kilarney Springs, Exmoor Zoo a Dinosaur Park, Rosemoor RHS Gardens; Dartington Crystal and the Designer outlet at "Atlantic Village".
Libbaton Golf club is within three quarters of a mile and has a restaurant; and there are Pubs in the nearby Village of High Bickington; or on the lower river road at Umberleigh (The fishing pub "The Rising Sun" is recommended). Equally nice is Chittlehamholt, which offers a good village inn also serving food and a well equipped Golf and Country Club (High Bullen) boasting a range of activities including an indoor heated swimming pool, fitness and gym complex, 18-hole golf club, fishing, tennis and health and beauty spa (day rates apply).

Two beautifully appointed adjacent Holiday Cottages nestling within Devonshire's' rural heartland this peaceful secluded spot in Virgin Forest above the lovely Taw Valley renowned for its great Salmon Fishing.The location offers the ideal relaxing holiday retreat. The Cottages can be rented singly or together for Larger Groups.
The Cottages comprise a double and twin bedroom ; both with en-suites and South facing balconies overlooking woodland; which drops down to the river Taw. They also have a lounge, kitchen- diner and downstairs cloakroom - a sofa bed in the lounge would provide an additional bed-space and there is plenty of room in the bedrooms for a cot.The Cottages have gas central heating and all fuel and power included in rent, Bed linen and towels are included in the rent, a cot and highchair are available , colour satellite TV, DVD player, radio/CD player, washing machine, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, parking for one car per cottage. No pets. No smoking.
Things You Need To Know
There is walking access to the 10 acres of woodland round the properties so young children will require supervision.
Friday to Friday changeover day - shorter lets by negotiation.
