Hill Cottage is 400 to 500 years old and is steeped in local history, it has been completely and sympathetically renovated and restored and recently awarded 4 stars by ETC. Hill Cottage sleeps up to 8 people (plus 2 plus cot) in the following accomodation:

A modern fitted kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, microwave, dishwasher. A utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, sink and freezer. A downstairs shower room with toilet, shower, sink and shaver point.
A spacious dining/sitting room (with double sofa-bed for plus 2), a large, separate living room with sofas, armchairs, log burner, tv/dvd/video, games, books, puzzles and cd/radio/cassette player. A telephone is provided in the hallway to receive incoming calls. Outgoing calls can be made using a phone card available locally or by arrangement. Please enquire when booking.

A unique spiralling staircase leads to a landing where there are four bedrooms: two huge double bedrooms with large pine beds and wooden floors and two twin rooms with single pine beds. There is a modern bathroom with bath, sink, shower cubicle and a separate wc. Hill Cottage has full central heating throughout.

small south facing conservatory affords enjoyment of the garden and views whatever the weather. Outside the cottage is set in approximately half an acre of its own private, tiered gardens with spectacular views over surrounding countryside, garden furniture and a garden store for outdoor equipment. There is ample off road parking for several vehicles.

Things You Need To Know

We do allow well-behaved pets and would ask owners not to leave pets unattended at any time (kennel available at Beer Mill by arrangement.)

Hill Cottage is available all year round and the fee includes heating , electricity , hot water , a basket of logs.
All bedding and bedlinen is provided. Towels are available to hire if required, please let us know when booking. Towels available for hire £4 per person per week.

Other Information

We operate a flexible pricing scheme for each of the houses, taking into account the length of your stay, the time of year and the number of guests in your party. The following guidelines should give you a fairly good idea of how much your stay will cost but if you would like an accurate figure please email or phone us - we do our very best to repond within a few hours to most enquiries.

Guide prices are for 10 guests at each of the properties unless otherwise stated.


Short breaks are available from the end of September to the middle of May, excluding school holidays. Price covers a 3 night stay at either house and ranges from £150 to £180 for 2 people. Add 10 % per extra guest up to 10 people.
Easter weekend - minimum 4 nights - £480 for up to 10
May Day weekend - 3 nights - £300 for up to 10.
