Location

The Peak District has something for everyone. There are numerous cycling trails including the High Peak Trail, the Monsal Trail and the Upper Derwent Valley taking in the beautiful reservoirs and dams of Ladybower, Howden and Derwent. Many fine golf courses, excellent fishing and watersports facilities.

There are numerous walks straight from the door to Bradford Dale, Middleton Dale, Lathkill Dale National Nature Reserve, Elton, Over Haddon, Robin Hood's Stride and many more. Perfectly situated to explore the whole of the Peak District, and within easy reach of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and Matlock.

Youlgrave has three superb pubs all serving excellent food and a wide variety of beers and wines, including locally brewed ales. There are two butcher's shops, a small supermarket and a post office.

Owner's Description

Overdale is a 200 year old former lead miner's cottage in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Set in a stunning location, tucked away down a cobbled footpath on the side of Bradford Dale in the picturesque village of Youlgrave.

It is a one bedroom cottage, full of character with exposed beams and stonework, original gritstone fireplace with woodburning stove.

Superb roof terrace and gravelled garden with spectacular views over Bradford Dale, the River Bradford and beyond.

THE LOUNGE/DINING AREA
Feel at home in the cosy lounge with comfortable suite, woodburning stove (initial basket of logs provided), TV, DVD,radio/CD player. There is a good selection of walking books and various books of local interest.

THE KITCHEN
Everything you need for a pleasant stay including cooker, fridge, washing machine and microwave. A welcome tray is provided with the essentials to make an initial cup of tea or coffee. We also provide the basic necessities such as condiments, cooking oil, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, dishcloth etc.

THE BEDROOM
Beautifully furnished double bedroom with stunning views over Bradford Dale.

Separate bathroom with shower over.

THE GARDEN
After a day spent sightseeing or walking sit back and relax on the roof terrace which has beautiful views over Bradford Dale and beyond.

To secure a booking a deposit of £50 is required with the outstanding balance to be paid not less than 4 weeks prior to arrival
In the event of cancellation deposits are non-refundable unless we can re-let the cottage, in which case £20 will be deducted from your deposit to cover administration charges
