This delightfully cosy cottage is situated on an organic dairy farm.
With a wood-burning stove,the cottage has great charm with exposed beams, wood-lined ceilings and wood floors.
Much of the furniture & fittings has been made by the owners using timber harvested from the woods on the farm.
Guests are welcome to see the farm & watch the cows being milked.
Natural spring water.
There are lovely views over the Teifi Valley and the cottage provides a perfect base from which to explore the coast of Cardigan Bay, Pembrokeshire & the Berwyn & Cambrian Mountains.
Short Breaks (min. 2 nights) are available throughout the year except during all school holidays.

Location

Penyrallt Fach Cottage is located on an organic dairy farm in North Carmarthenshire.
The nearest small towns are Newcastle Emlyn, Cardigan & Lampeter.
The area abounds in fascinating historic sites, castles and the glorious beaches of Cardigan Bay are only a short drive away.
There are several National Trust properties in the area, also the National Botanic Gardens of Wales & the historic Aberglasney Gardens.

Owner's Description

Penyrallt Fach is a delightful cottage offering a warm welcome to guests who wish to enjoy a real country holiday.
On arrival you will find a small welcome hamper,a home-baked cake & fresh flowers from the garden on the table.
The beds will be made-up and if the weather is a little inclement the wood-burning stove will be lit.

A supply of logs for the wood-burning stove is included in the rental, as is all bed-linen, towels and electricity.

The cottage has a very well-equipped open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with all the necessary utensils, china, glass & cutlery supplied. There is a large farmhouse table with seating for 4.
A comfortable sofa and easy chairs are in front of the fire ready for you to relax in after long days spent on the beach or walking in the hills.
There is large selection of books, DVDs & board-games, a digital radio with iPod dock, TV. & DVD player.

The two bedrooms, one double, one twin, are both simply & attractively furnished. There is a king-size goose-down duvet on the double bed & organic wool duvets on the twin beds. Lovely local Welsh wool blankets are also supplied.

The bathroom is simple & functional with a bath(complete with yellow rubber ducks!)with hand-held shower, wash-basin, lavatory, washing-machine & heated towel-rail.

The water supply comes from pure natural springs that rise on the farm.

The farm on which the cottage is situated is an organic dairy farm (Soil Association licensed) and guests are welcome to walk around the 140 acres of pastures & woodlands. A guided farm walk hosted by the farmer, David, can be requested free of charge, in which all aspects of life on the farm can be seen.
There is also the opportunity to see the cows being milked and to meet Mollie our working sheepdog.

Things You Need To Know

The cottage is on a fully working dairy farm.

The cottage is single story with a few very shallow steps leading to the bedrooms.

We will accept dogs in the cottage by prior arrangement, at a charge of £10 per dog (max. 2 dogs).

No smoking in the cottage.

From the M4 junction 49, take the A48 to Carmarthen.
From Carmarthen take the A484 for about 16 miles.
At Rhos bear off to the right onto the A486 and go for about 1/4 mile to across-roads. Turn right at the No Through Road sign. Go down the lane, past a house on the left, over a small stone bridge and on up to end of the drive when you will arrive on the farmyard.The cottage is on the left as you enter the yard.

Short Breaks £65 per night; minimum 2 nights

Short Breaks are NOT available during July, August, Christmas, New Year, Easter & Half Term weeks.
