You can see seals, deer, buzzards and herons. The observant or lucky visitor will also see otters, osprey and red squirrels.

Location

Seafield Farm Cottages are situated in the area known as Knapdale around the shores of Loch Sween close to the village of Achnamara and 9 miles from Lochgilphead. Knapdale is a National Scenic Area and is also an area with a rich archaeological and historical heritage. The many sea and freshwater lochs are a haven for wildlife and there are many excellent cycle and walking routes on forest roads directly from the farm. The only farming activity at Seafield nowadays is sheep grazing.

Owner's Description

The cottage is attached to the farmhouse in a beautiful setting at the head of Loch Sween.
The roomy accommodation on two floors combines traditional furnishings with excellent modern facilities and everything you need for a self catering holiday.

The ground floor has an entrance hall, bathroom, lounge diner and kitchen and is designed to be attractive, functional and family friendly. There is no enclosed garden but there are grassy areas for sitting and playing and 50 acres of land to explore.

The Kitchen
Fully equipped with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge.


The Bathroom
On the ground floor, the bathroom has a shower, wc, wash basin, shaver socket and heated towel rail.

The Bedrooms
Two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one twin.
The bedrooms have coombed ceilings and original beams.
There is also a cot available.
All bedding (duvets), bedlinen and towels are provided.


Heating
The cottage is fully double glazed and well insulated.
The main central heating & hot water is by log fired boiler.
The boiler is in a separate building and you do not have to tend it.

Directions

How to get to Seafield Farm From Lochgilphead take the A816 Oban Road to Cairnbaan (two miles). Take the B841 at Cairnbaan following signs for Tayvallich and Crinan. Continue for 2 miles to Bellanoch and then take the next left, the B8025 signposted Tayvallich and Achnamara. Follow this road taking the next left signposted Achnamara 3 miles. Follow this single track road for 21/2 miles. Seafield Farm is on the right hand side of the road.

Other Information

Home produce including bread, cakes, scones jam and eggs are available to purchase. Jane makes willow baskets and runs occasional courses in basketmaking. Baskets are available to buy.
