There are beautiful gardens and spectacular views, south to Rhu Bay and the Clyde, and north over the Gareloch to the Arrochar hills.
Rhu is an excellent centre for walking, from a gentle stroll on the shore to a strenuous day in the hills, and a wide area of west and central Scotland is accessible in a day's driving or cycling.
Location
The Loch Lomond National Park boundary is less than ten minutes away and Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Hill House is even closer.
There are numerous golf courses nearby, and some superb west coast gardens to visit.The cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh are within easy reach for a day trip, as are Clyde ferries and the Waverley paddle steamer, The world-famous scenic West Highland railway line can be boarded at Helensburgh for a day trip to Oban, Fortwilliam or Mallaig.
A wide range of tourist information is provided and the owners will be happy to advise on touring plans.
Owner's Description
The flat is self-contained and has its own entrance and parking area. The accommodation comprises an entrance hall, lounge, double bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, and shower room/toilet. It is centrally heated throughout with constant hot water available.
The spacious lounge has open views south over the garden to the Firth of Clyde, and has a digital free-view wide-screen television with a DVD player and a radio/CD player.
Village amenities including the church, post office, pub and village store are within a short walk, as is Rhu Marina. Helensburgh, which offers most services and a wide range of shops and restaurants, is a 5min drive away. Glasgow is a 45min drive, (or just over an hour by bus/train), and a further hour will take you to Edinburgh. The M8 motorway and Glasgow International Airport are about 35 minutes away and Prestwick Airport about 80minutes.
Local taxis are easily available and a half-hourly bus connects to the trains at Helensburgh. A sleeper service to and from London calls at Helensburgh Upper station.
Unfortunately the flat is not suitable for children and we cannot accommodate pets.
We are a non-smoking household. Prices are all inclusive.

Getting There by Car

Getting There by Railway
Main lines to Glasgow then Glasgow Queen Street (lower level), to Helensburgh Central station (half-hourly) - connects with bus/taxi to Rhu.
London sleeper to Helensburgh Upper station(West Highland line) - phone for taxi.
Getting there by Aeroplane
From Glasgow International Airport, taxi to Rhu about £35.00, or by car M8 - direction Erskine Bridge, cross bridge, take A82 (Crianlarich), then fork left A814 to Helensburgh and then Rhu. Prestwick Airport take train to Glasgow, or 75 minutes by road - A77/M77, then M8 past Glasgow Airport.
