Appin House is set amongst some of the most breath-taking scenery in the Scottish West Higlands. From its elevated position overlooking Loch Linnhe, to the South West can be seen Castle Stalker with the hills of Mull in the background, and to the West the mountains of Morvern rise majestically from the loch.

We are David and Denys Mathieson, and for 21 years now we have neen personally operating a small, family run catering accommodation business from our home at Appin House in North Argyll.

Over the years we have slowly developed and expanded, and now pride ourselves that we can offer accommodation to suit a range of requirements and tastes.

Our smallest units are for 2 people only, whilst our largest, purpose built cottage is perfect for the larger family or smaller group looking for lots of space in the ultimate of comfort and quality.

Appin House Lodges

Our 2 original Lodges, 'Birch' and 'Pine' have been graded as 4 Star. These high quality wood-clad Lodges sleep up to 4 people and stand just outside our main gates. They have proved to be extremely popular with our guests - some of whom return year after year.

Each of these Lodges consists of:

* A large wood-panelled lounge/ dining/ kitchen area.
* Furniture is tasteful and, of course, includes a colour TV.
* Bathroom with bath and electric shower.
* One double bedroom.
* One twin bedroom.
* Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes.
* The kitchen is well equipped, with electric cooker, fridge/ freezer, microwave and dishwasher.
* Parking is just right beside each Lodge.

GATE LODGE

Completed in 2004, this newest Lodge must be seen to be believed. From a majestic and commanding south-facing position above Loch Linnhe it is perfectly sited to enjoy exceptional views. The spacious, architect designed wood clad Lodge is open plan on various levels. There are 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6 - but 2 more, with extra charge, may sleep in the sunroom.

* 2 double bedrooms (1 en-suite) with extra large beds (1 ziplinked).
* 1 twin bedroom.
* large open plan living area and separate * sunroom - both with vaulted ceiling and slate floor.
* Oil fired underfloor heating throughout.
* Lounge has multifuel stove, piano, stereo, digital Freeview TV and video player.
* Well fitted kictchen and utility room - providing gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, washer/ drier, freezer and good drrying facilities.
* Shower room alongside bedrooms 2 and 3, and also a cloakroom/ toilet.
* Extensive deck and barbeque.
* Parking alongside for several cars.

Prices:
Lorne & Shuna from £210 - £260 per week.
Lodges Birch & Pine from £315 - £515 per week.
Gate Lodge Tighan Lios from £565 - £950 pwe week.

There is a charge of £10 for a dog.

Other Information

From June to September the minimum let is one week. At other times minimum stays of 3 days can be negotiated, subject to availability.

In some units electricity is metered and charged at cost - Both apartments and the two smaller Lodges, Birch and Pine.
Smoking is not prohibited in all properties, but guests are requested not to smoke in bedrooms.

Dogs are allowed by arrangement in most units with a charge of £10 per dog per week. They MUST NOT be left unattended in the property. It is necessary to advise that a dog is being brought.

Cots should be requested in advance, and are subject to availability - as are highchairs.
